About Us

Once a year Conversation Cafes and co-hosts organize a week when everyone, everywhere is invited to sit down in small groups to consider together the most important questions in the world today. We live in challenging and complex times. No one knows THE answer, but everyone holds a piece of the answer. You can say your piece during Conversation Week. We, and the world, will be all listening.

CONVERSATION WEEK 2007 CONCLUDES!

Nearly 200 hosts from around the world convened small-group discussions March 25-31 using the Conversation Cafe process! These hosts, and their guests, took a leadership role in providing a space for people to have meaningful, respectful, open, and spirited conversation. Conversation Week is a pilot project, aimed at celebrating the power of conversation to change the world.

Hosts Feb 28

Have you ever wondered what would happen if the people of the world talked to each other about the most important questions of our times – and the world listened? Conversation Week needs you to make this dream happen. Your desire to speak, listen and learn. Your participation as a host and organizer of one of the 250 conversation circles.

The goal is to empower people worldwide to use the Conversation Cafe method to have these conversations – coordinated through the web so we can actually hear what’s said around the world.

Conversation Cafe was designed to have the minimal structure necessary that would allow friends, neighbors, and strangers to move from small talk to BIG talk.

Conversation Week is using OrangeBands as our symbol, the brainchild of The OrangeBand Initiative. Normally with OrangeBands – ribbons or fabric worn to invite conversation - the wearer decides what matters. For Conversation Week, OrangeBands will be the visible and viral invitations to a local Conversation Week conversation on the world’s big questions now.
