About Conversation Week 2007
WHEN? March 25-31, 2007
WHAT? Conversation Week 2007 is a celebration of the power of conversation to change the world. Hosts will convene face-to-face, small-group conversations with friends, neighbors, and strangers. The goal is to empower people worldwide to convene a meaningful, respectful discussion in their community.
Hosts will be trained to convene the conversation using the powerful yet simple Conversation Café process, and participants will experience rich, respectful conversation right in the town square. Conversation Week also marks Conversation Cafe’s fifth birthday!
The OrangeBand Initiative also adds its symbol for promoting meaningful conversation. OrangeBands serve as invitation to a conversation about issues that matter - the wearer decides what matters. Hosts of CW will learn how using OrangeBand can help them advertise their event and keep the conversation going afterwards.
WHERE? Conversation hosts are being sought all around the world.
WHO? Anyone with interest and capacity to organize, advertise, and host a Conversation Café can be a host. Anyone with interest and capacity to share and listen respectfully can be a participant.
HOW? Three dialogue organizations with big ideas join forces to form the Conversation Week steering committee: Conversation Café, OrangeBand, and dropping knowledge. The core committee coordinates the logistical, training, technical, fundraising, and promotional aspects of Conversation Week.
